Summer’s Bounty: Chicago’s Farmers Markets

Succulent fruits and vibrant vegetables color our plates throughout the summer.  From May to October, farmers markets are sprinkled throughout the Chicagoland location.  These markets enrich our streets with a relaxing, friendly atmosphere that celebrates the bounty of local farms.  Take advantage of the warmer weather and stroll through one of Chicago’s many markets while listening to music and snacking on food. Each farmers market in Chicago has its own unique characteristics.

The Green City Market located at the intersection of Clark and Lincoln features food from small farms but go on a Wednesday when the crowds aren’t as large between 7am-1pm.  Remember the early bird always catches the worm!

Logan square farmers market located 2755 N. Milwaukee Ave offers diverse produce and baked goods from 10am-3pm on Sundays.

Rain or shine, the Chicago French market located 131 n. Clinton is opened Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am-5:30pm.  This year round indoor market offers all the bounties of summer plus high quality meats, cheeses, and pastries.  You can pick-up all of the ingredients for any recipe here.

Daley Plaza farmers market is uniquely located right in the middle of your lunch break on Thursdays from 7am-3pm.  Take a break from work and check out the aromas that tempt your taste buds.

If you are looking for some family time, check out Lincoln Park farmers market on Saturdays from 7 am- 1 pm at Armitage and Orchard.  Pick up items for dinner and enjoy some ready to eat goods to hold you over.
